Let’s get to know each other..
My name is Alexandra Elizabeth Mazerolle, but everyone calls me Ally Maz. I am a yoga teacher, breathwork facilitator, youth mentor, entrepreneur and a published author. My journey into wellness came at the age of 20 when I was desperate to find a way to heal after struggling with a hidden eating disorder, grieving the end of a professional dance career and suffering from severe asthma. I went to my first yoga class and never looked back. At age 24, I founded my first business, Girlvana Yoga, which supports the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of teen girls through yoga retreats, classes and workshops. From there I went on to open a yoga and fitness studio called Distrikt Movement from 2013-2018. The Distrikt was a renowned community hub that changed the game for boutique studios in Canada and beyond. I signed a book deal with Penguin Random House at age 29 and launched my first book, Girlvana with great success.
I am a proud Legacy Global Ambassador for lululemon. My Youtube videos with lululemon have racked up over 12 million views collectively and continue to be a staple in many people’s days around the world. In 2020, I joined the founding team at Open, a mindfulness app, to help develop yoga, meditation, and breathwork content as well as providing internal breathwork trainings and on-camera development for talent. In the past I have partnered with notable brands and organizations such Adidas, Nike, Girlfriend Collective, Rent the Runway, Bumble, FIGS, LA Dodgers, Vancouver Canucks, IS Clinical, MudWTR, Vice, Wanderlust, Youth To the People, The Mirror and many more.
I have been featured in many press articles including Allure Magazine, GOOP, Well + Good, Refinery 29, Runner’s World, Coveteur, Fast Company, Marie Claire UK, Global News and the Vancouver Sun to name a few.
I spend most of my time now traveling the world leading yoga retreats and trainings. My company Ladyvana Retreats, is a retreat designed for women to reconnect to themselves, nature and sisterhood. We do deep healing work through the practices of yoga, meditation, breathwork, journaling and group sharing/witnessing. I co-founded a 200 Hr Yoga Teacher training course called Feelvana which empowers people to dive deep into their self discovery work while learning how to become a teacher. I also lead Breathwork Facilitator trainings both digitally and in-person. And lastly, I am currently launching my first podcast, The Ally Maz Show!
